Do I have to help sailing on board?
Helping to sail the ship is completely voluntary. Of course the crew likes to share their passion for sailing.
What can I expect of the cabins?
On the Meander we offer 4 double standard cabins with shared showers/toilets and 2 double comfort cabins with private shower/toilet. Al cabins are cozy and comfortable with central heating, ventilation and 220V sockets. Upon arrival your bed is made.
How can I pay for my drinks on board?
You pay cash. Unfortunately we do not take cards on board. There is also no ATM on Spitsbergen. We therefore recommend that you bring sufficient cash from home when traveling to Spitsbergen.
What should I pack in addition to regular clothes?
Sailing suit (waterproof jacket and pants)
Waterproof and warm boots (e.g. Muckboots)
Gloves, hat and scarf
Warm socks and underwear
Small backpack to take with you during the landings
Sunglasses
Swimwear
How do I get to the ship in Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen?
Longyearbyen can be reached by plane. Most flights from England to Longyearbyen fly via Oslo (Norway), where you have to change.

Can it happen that my trip is canceled because, for example, there are too few participants?
Yes, although this very rarely happens. All trips have a minimum or maximum number of participants. If your trip cannot take place, because there are for example too few participants, we reserve the right to cancel a trip. You will be notified by telephone or by writing 4 weeks before the date of departure of the trip. When we have to decide to cancel a trip, the costs of the trip itself will be refunded, but it is not possible to demand to us the costs incurred by yourself in connection with this trip (for example visa, vaccinations, flights, etc.). We therefore recommend that you take out cancellation insurance where possible.
